Players build a deck of letter cards and use them to spell words, gaining prestige as they craft a 19th-century novelist’s career. Decks specialize in genre colors that unlock bonus abilities, and an Ink push‑your‑luck mechanic lets players draw extra cards at risk of losing control. Letter cards have individual powers (including some that remain in play as Timeless Classics), and any card can act as a wildcard when played. The objective is to reach 60 fame points first in competitive play; the box also provides variants such as awards, adverts, player powers, events, and a cooperative mode against automated opponents.
