1227 · Abstract Strategy
Jarmo
A two-player abstract war-and-race game inspired by Tatarian tradition. Players command a group of archer pieces that move across a grid toward the opponent’s first row, capturing opposing archers by landing on their spaces. Captured archers are removed and capturing archers receive a persistent mark used by later rules. The game ends when a player advances all uncaptured archers into the opponent’s first row; players then total points and the higher score wins, ties are possible. Play emphasizes planning, observation and piece-management rather than simple forward shuffling.
