2006 · Abstract Strategy
Margo
An abstract two-player game inspired by Go, played with marbles on an initially empty square grid. Players take turns placing a marble on an empty point or stacking it on four existing marbles, creating connections across the board and upward structures. After each placement, surrounded enemy groups are captured unless they support enemy marbles, allowing them to remain in play. Suicide moves are prohibited, as are repeated board positions, and the second player may swap colors after the opening move. The game ends when no legal move remains; the player with the most marbles in play wins.
