Nexus Ops
Futuristic corporations vie for control of a mineral-rich moon while hostile alien units swarm the board. Players build and deploy units of different alien races, move across a modular hex grid, and resolve combat with dice-driven comparisons reminiscent of classic war games. Victory points come from winning battles, controlling a central Monolith, and completing secret mission cards. Losing players receive Energize cards that grant special abilities later, and the first player to reach the target victory total wins.

Evan5.9 This is a marvelous dudes on the map game. The game has a nice variety of figures who have easy to understand abilities. The minis (in the original version) are fun looking and glow under blacklight. The points system is also very easy as points get awarded for combat, or playing the card to claim credit for having created a specific board state. The game is very clever in that it properly incentives you to spread your forces thin early on, to try to hold the risky center of the map, to attack and win, or to defend and lose. I don't think this game would work well with less than exactly 4, which is limiting. Also, sadly for me the game uses dice for combat, which can be frustrating at times, since the best laid plans can be foiled by luck. That being said, if I'm going to play a dudes on the map game with dice, this one is by far the most elegant. It has everything good from the heavier games and none of the extra rules weight and fluff. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :nostar: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
Me gustó bastante. Las pegas: - La versión que jugamos es la vieja... la caja es horrible y las losetas simplonas. - Puede hacerse un poco largo.
