Regicide
Players cooperate as fantasy heroes trying to overthrow a corrupt royal line using a standard deck of cards. On each turn a player plays cards to attack the current enemy; when its health is reduced to zero the enemy is defeated and the group moves on. Enemies counterattack each turn, forcing players to discard cards to absorb damage; if the group cannot discard enough, they all lose. The campaign tracks a sequence of increasingly tough foes culminating in the final King. Play emphasizes hand management, tactical sequencing, and coordinated play across 1–4 players.

Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
If the enemy is the same suit as my card, does the suit power still work or is it blocked?
Enemies are immune to suit powers of their matching suit — the card’s number still adds to damage but the suit effect doesn’t happen unless a Jester is played to negate immunity (see Enemy Immunity and Playing the Jester) (page 2).
Do Spades' shields last or only for the current turn?
Spades reduce the enemy’s attack and their shield effects are cumulative for all spades played against that enemy and remain in effect until the enemy is defeated (page 1).
If I play Hearts and Diamonds together (or via combos/Animal Companion), which resolves first — healing or drawing?
Whenever both a Hearts heal and a Diamonds draw are resolved together, resolve the Hearts healing before resolving Diamonds drawing (pages 1–2).
Can Animal Companions be used in combos, and how do they interact with another card?
Animal Companions cannot be part of multi-card combos; they may be played alone or paired with exactly one other card (including another Animal Companion), count as 1 toward attack, and their suit power also applies (page 2).
What happens if we deal exactly the enemy’s health when defeating it?
If damage equals the enemy’s health exactly, place that enemy facedown on top of the Tavern deck instead of the discard pile; otherwise place it in the discard pile, then discard players’ cards and reveal the next Castle card (page 1).
If I choose to yield, do I still activate suit powers or deal damage?
Yielding skips Steps 2 and 3 — you do not activate suit powers or deal damage and instead move directly to Step 4 to suffer damage; you may not yield if every other player yielded on their last turn (pages 1–2).
