Ave, Cézár!
Two rival commanders contest the provinces of the Roman Republic by deploying legions to key battlegrounds across the map. Players draw tokens from a bag to determine and replenish forces, then allocate units to provinces to gain tactical advantages and contest control. Gameplay resolves area control through deployment and token management, with turnover driven by bag draws and local skirmishes. Three optional modules add variability: assassination effects that remove or disrupt forces, elite Centurion units with enhanced abilities, and covert actions that alter combat outcomes and player interactions.

Can I place an Influence token on any Border space, or only on ones matching its icon? What about laurel (wild) tokens?
You must place an Influence token on a free Border space with a matching icon; laurel (wild) tokens are considered wild and may be placed on any Border space. (pp.3–4)
If I close a province by placing the last border token, who takes the Province Bonus and who places the Control marker?
The player who placed the last Influence token takes the Province Bonus token(s); then players total their Influence around the closed province and the highest total places a Control marker — ties mean no Control marker is placed. (p.4)
If I win control of Italia, do I place one Control marker or two?
If the Province is Italia, the controlling player places a second Control marker on the second space (i.e., they place two Control markers). (p.5)
If I already control an adjacent province, do I get any extra Control markers when I win the neighboring province?
Yes — when adjacent Provinces are controlled by the same player, place an additional Control marker on the Border space between them, covering the Influence token and any other token there. (p.5)
If I receive two Tactics bonus tokens from closing Provinces, do I get two extra turns?
No — if you receive two Tactics bonus tokens from closing Provinces, you only get one extra turn after the current one. (p.6)
When does the game end and how is the winner determined?
The game ends immediately when a player places their last Control marker on the map or under a Senate token; that player is the winner. (p.5)
