EXIT: A játék – A titkos labor

Players wake up locked inside a research facility after a medical study goes wrong and must piece together what happened. They examine a notebook, a rotating code dial and other items found in the room to uncover clues and progress toward escape. Gameplay centers on collaborative puzzle solving: decode symbols, combine and manipulate physical components, use logic and observation to unlock new information, and mark off solved challenges. Pens, paper and scissors are useful for some tasks.

Can we look through the book or the fronts of the cards before we start?

No — do not leaf through the book or look at the fronts of any cards until the game tells you to; keep everything hidden at the start (see page 2).

Do the cards need to be arranged a certain way before play?

Yes — sort into three piles by their backs (Riddle, Answer, Help), ensure Riddle and Answer cards are in ascending order by their letters/numbers, and stack Help Cards by symbol with the "1st CLUE" on top (see page 2).

When am I allowed to use the strange items from the box (stencil, key-like object)?

Only when the book explicitly tells you that you've found them — leave the strange items in the box until then (see page 3).

If I enter a code on the decoder, can I keep the Answer Card if it’s correct or incorrect?

Return all Answer Cards to the Answer Card pile whether the code turns out correct or incorrect; the Answer Card will instruct you how to continue if correct (see pages 4–5).

Is it OK to try every combination on the decoder until one works?

No — all codes can be solved logically, so you should not just try all possible combinations on the disk (see page 5).

Are we allowed to write on, fold, tear, or cut the game materials?

Yes — writing on, folding, tearing, or cutting the materials is permitted (and sometimes required), but note the game is intended for a single playthrough (see page 6).
