No Peace Without Honor!: The Dutch War 1672-1678

Two players recreate Louis XIV’s early European wars in the 1667–1684 era, managing campaigns, political pressures and diplomacy across land and sea. Players deploy armies and leaders, conduct battles and sieges, and play event cards that introduce external threats (Ottoman pressure, colonial clashes, Anglo-Dutch naval actions) and opportunities. War weariness rises over time, producing political and economic effects that constrain operations and can force negotiated peace. The system adds historical commanders and events to simulate operational choices and long-term strategic tradeoffs; it can also link with related modules to form a larger, continuous campaign covering Louis XIV’s wars.
