The Battle for Dresden 1813

A brigade-level, two-player simulation of the two days of fighting in and around Dresden during the 1813 campaign. One player commands the French brigades; the opponent commands the Austrian, Russian and Prussian contingents. Players maneuver brigade- and battery-strength units on a hex map where each hex represents 400 yards, conduct combats against adjacent enemy units, and resolve actions through a structured sequence of play with day and night turn lengths. Counters represent historical formations and strength points equate to roughly 450–650 men or one artillery battery. Scenarios cover varying lengths of the battle and rules present basic, advanced and optional systems with designer notes and historical background.
