The Last Hundred Yards

Players command Allied and Axis small units in tactical infantry combat in Western Europe after D-Day, resolving platoon- and company-level engagements over close terrain. Play alternates around an initiative-driven action/reaction cycle: the player with initiative conducts proactive moves and attacks while the opponent performs limited reactions. Movement, opportunity fire and directed fire allotment use markers to show units under fire and type of fire, with results revealed during fire resolution. Armored and infantry reactions can reverse engagement roles, and decision-heavy turns model momentum and the shifting advantage between attacker and defender.
