Hoplite: The Great Battles of Sparta's Persian Expedition

This two-scenario historical wargame depicts Spartan and Persian forces during the Persian Expedition in 397–395 BC. At Meander, the Spartan army turns to face the advancing Persians while Xenocles’ ambush force emerges from woods behind them. At Sardis, the Persians are favored, and each army withdraws after eliminating units whose combined Rout Points reach a specified threshold: 70 for the Spartans and 85 for the Persians. The game includes 26 counters and both scenarios from C3i Magazine, Issue #29.
