Rum & Pirates

Guide a crew of pirates through the alleys of their hideout, competing in drinking contests, fights, and other ventures to collect rum and earn renown. Players share control of the captain, using movement and tactical choices to visit locations and score points. At the end of each of five rounds, pirates compete for the best sleeping spaces aboard the ship. Variable board layouts, tiles, and die rolls add changing opportunities while keeping the game’s movement and collection rules straightforward.

This is a super light route building game, where players get cute little pirate meeples that they lay down behind the path of the red action pawn that players move around the board to collect tiles of different point values when they land on an intersection space. A few of the tile collection methods require die rolls, which feels a little uncomfortable among the other mechanisms in the game. Still, the game is pretty fun for what it is, however I don't think I need to own this. ★ Art and components ☆ Innovative mechanics ★ Handles 5 or more players ★ Good with min or max players ★ Low time between turns ☆ Comfortable complexity ☆ Re-playability ★☆☆ Enjoyment

Too sticky for me. The mutiny mechanic that gets you moving pirates from one side of a thing to the other is interesting but tedious and random in reality.
