Tara: Ireland's Royal Board Game

Inspired by the Book of Kells and Ireland’s Celtic royal heritage, this abstract strategy game is played on a board of interwoven hills and ring forts. Players place and connect ring forts with bridge tiles, creating larger kingdoms represented by Celtic knotwork. Several variants introduce different strategic challenges. Sacred Hill focuses on building networks and reducing the number of kingdoms, while High Kings of Tara adds three knight-moving kings per player, which can capture ring forts and opposing kings. Poisoned Chalice uses restricted placement and capture rules to create a more demanding contest of control.
