Crazy 8s: A Rules-Lite Universal Game Engine

A rules-light role-playing game engine for creating stories in any setting. The Talespinner presents challenges and adjudicates the rules, while players describe their characters’ actions and resolve them by rolling two eight-sided dice against a difficulty value. Characters rely on skills, gear, and Awesome points, which can be spent to alter the story or produce other in-game effects. Released under the Open Game License, the system can also serve as a foundation for new worlds and settings.
