Players invent a temporary language by pairing short sound tokens with picture cards and using those tokens as names. On a turn, a player reveals a sound token, flips an image, assigns that image to the sound and announces it aloud; subsequent players either accept that pairing or introduce a new sound for the image. After several sound–image pairs are established, the active player secretly selects an unassigned image and names it aloud using a sequence of the learned sounds. Other players attempt to identify which image corresponds to the spoken sequence.
