The game is set in Fódlan, a continent divided among the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and the Leicester Alliance. A fragile peace is maintained by the Church of Seiros at Garreg Mach Monastery, while hidden forces work to reshape the continent. Players choose a house, develop their students and allies, manage relationships and resources, and lead their forces through tactical battles. Decisions made during training and exploration influence the characters, alliances, and conflicts that unfold.
