Rising Waters

Players work cooperatively to survive the 1927 Mississippi flood while confronting racism and the forces of nature. Over a series of rounds representing successive weeks, they manage a hex-based map, protect homes and communities, and negotiate the demands of white landowners. Area control, set collection, and variable player powers support the struggle for survival. Community cards representing family, church, music, farming, animals, gardens, and education improve abilities and provide ways to resist oppression. Players win by keeping losses below the limit until the flood passes.
