Subdivision

Subdivisions have unique rules governing what can be built and where. Players simultaneously place residential, commercial, industrial, civic, and luxury zones on their personal boards, using a parcel die to determine eligible spaces. Adjacent zones can create improvements such as roads, schools, parks, sidewalks, and lakes, which provide money and points while covering parcels. Tile hands are passed between rounds, and bonuses reward specific achievements. After four rounds, players score for parks, connected sidewalks, school rankings, and zones linked to the highway, while trying to work around the HOA.

I was expecting this to be more like Suburbia, but in fact it's a cute little puzzle game that only really shares Suburbia's poor graphic design. I enjoyed myself enough playing it, but it was more multi-player solitaire than any other game I've played recently, and when we were done, we didn't feel excited about the idea of playing it again in the future. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :nostar: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :nostar: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
