A treacherous cross-country journey to Willamette Valley, where families face disease, starvation, rivers, rattlesnakes, and other hazards. Players place trail tiles to reveal routes, rivers, forts, and towns while racing their wagons west. Each turn allows up to three actions, including moving, hunting, buying, collecting hitchhikers, and selling. Limited wagon space and dwindling supplies require careful planning, while medicine and river crossings provide free actions. The game ends when a wagon reaches Willamette Valley or the final trail tile is placed, and the player with the most money wins.
