Third volume in The Ancient World series, covering the 2nd Punic War across Italy, Africa, Spain, and western Mauretania. The game uses a chit-pull system in which leader quality affects opportunities to act. Attrition and operational endurance govern movement, while battles use die rolls and modifiers for leadership, troop numbers, cavalry, and elite forces. Sieges, interception, retreats, pursuit, random auguries, naval superiority, and post-battle effects are also represented. Roman magistrates and Carthaginian commanders direct armies within distinct political systems, while Celtic and Iberian tribes can change allegiance, provide troops, or be attacked and pacified. Scenarios range from introductory campaigns to an 18-turn grand campaign covering the entire war.
