Battles for Empire 1870-1914

A miniatures battle system for recreating British imperial warfare from 1870 to 1902. Players command British regulars and trained colonial troops, or field Zulus, Dervishes, Pathans, and Boers in conflicts including the Zulu, Sudan, Afghan, and Boer campaigns. Units generally represent companies or larger formations, with optional rules for smaller skirmishes. Shared core mechanics are combined with distinct movement and morale tables for each army. The rules include ambushes, hidden deployment, commander heroics, gunboats, dhows, and assaults on buildings and battlements, along with four historical scenarios: Khambula, Tamai, Ahmed Kheyl, and Colenso. No specific basing scheme or figure scale is required.
