Part of the Silent Dead series and Volume 1 of a three-part simulation of Operation Mars, the failed Soviet offensive against the German Ninth Army in the winter of 1942–43. Players command either Soviet forces under Zhukov or the German Ninth Army under Model, directing operations across a detailed Eastern Front map. The game uses variable-strength counters with up to five steps per unit, one-day turns, and 1.5-mile hexes. The included Belyy Thrust scenario covers the attacks of the Soviet 41st Army from 25 November to 4 December 1942, featuring fluid breakthroughs, reinforcements, and command decisions for both sides.
