Best of Neapolitan

Best of Neapolitan is a board game for 3–5 players. It plays in 15–30 minutes and is meant for ages 13 and up. Ludoya players call it best with 4.

Three to five players compete in a light trick-taking contest where suit hierarchy changes each trick. Players are dealt seven cards from a deck with three colored suits and occasional pass cards. On each trick, the lead suit must be followed if possible; if all played cards share a suit the highest card wins. If multiple colors appear, a three-token color tower determines which color is currently trump, and the highest card of that trump (or the middle color if trump is absent) takes the trick. The winning color’s token moves to the bottom of the tower, altering the next trick’s ranking. After seven tricks, players score based on hitting a target number of tricks (varies by player count) or for taking none, and advance on a scoring track until someone reaches the victory threshold.
