Cthulhu Wars: Masks of Nyarlathotep

An expansion adds multiple incarnations of a shape-shifting cosmic entity as new figures and loyalty cards for use in faction play. Players gain access to nine Dark Demon miniatures that can be recruited; recruiting one grants enemy factions their own Dark Demon that functions as a liability to them while remaining a flexible asset for the recruiting faction. New unique Great Old One manifestations include a shadowy Egyptian Pharaoh that forces cultists off gates and a Bloated Woman who steals killed units and alters gates to produce Elder Signs instead of Power. A powerful combat-only Great Old One, the Haunter of the Dark, can be awakened under special conditions and acquires a potent pre-battle ability via an inexpensive spellbook. Components include the character figures, loyalty cards, and two spellbooks to integrate these new effects into ongoing play.
