Hamburg in 1884 is marked by political unrest as the city’s customs union with the German Empire approaches and conflicts with the growing Social Democratic movement intensify. Against this backdrop, the player characters meet an old acquaintance from a previous adventure in London and become entangled once more in the secrets of the Friends of the British Library. This self-contained roleplaying adventure reveals new dangers and hidden connections in the Hanseatic city. It follows “The Girl from the Thames” but can also be played independently, with all necessary information included. Sourcebook material, contemporary travel accounts, and historical fiction excerpts provide additional context for the setting.
