Doomlings

Life on a doomed planet competes for supremacy until the inevitable apocalypse ends the game. Players draw Trait cards from a shared pile and play them to score points and grant special abilities that shape their species’ strategy. Rounds proceed via Age cards that set round rules and periodically trigger Catastrophes, global events that hinder all players and drive adaptation. A unique Gene Pool mechanic controls each player’s hand size and can be modified by Traits or Catastrophes, influencing selection options each turn. Plays build combinations across multiple Trait colors and rare Dominant Traits; the highest-scoring species when the third Catastrophe strikes wins. Designed for 2–6 players, plays last about 20–45 minutes and uses only cards and counters to track hand size.
