Diuna: Imperium – Potęga Ix

Three new Great Houses join the struggle, each with a unique leader ability that changes available strategies. Players acquire Ixian technologies to gain persistent bonuses and access new actions. Dreadnoughts enter play as powerful units that contest aerial control and influence board positioning. New infiltrator mechanics allow covert interaction and indirect disruption of opponents’ plans. An optional Epic mode lengthens the game and raises the stakes with expanded objectives and intensified competition.

Pytania o zasady

Odpowiedzi z instrukcji od asystenta zasad Ludoya.

How do I acquire Tech tiles — what does the Acquire Tech icon do and how do discounts work?

Trigger the Acquire Tech icon to take any face-up tile from the top of one of the three Ix stacks, pay its spice cost, place it in your supply, then reveal the next tile in that stack; some Acquire Tech icons include a -1 or -2 spice Tech Discount that reduces that single purchase but can’t be combined with other printed discounts (you may still combine it with Negotiators). (See pages 4 and 12.)

What does placing a Negotiator do — how and when does it reduce a Tech’s cost?

When you trigger a Tech Negotiation icon you may place a troop from your supply as a Negotiator on the Ix board; later when you Acquire Tech you may return any number of your Negotiators to reduce the Tech’s cost by 1 spice each (costs can’t go below 0), and this reduction may be combined with a printed Tech Discount. (See page 4 and page 12.)

When I get a Freighter icon, should I advance or recall — what happens when I recall my Freighter?

Each Freighter icon lets you either advance your Freighter one space up the Shipping track or recall it to the bottom; when you recall it you collect the rewards on its current space and each space below it (in any order), which include Acquire Tech with a -2 discount, recruit two troops +1 Influence, or a choice of 5 Solari (opponents gain 1) or 2 spice. (See page 5 and page 12.)

How do dreadnoughts work in combat — how do I commission/deploy them and what happens after the Conflict?

Triggering a Dreadnought icon lets you commission a dreadnought from your supply into your garrison (or deploy it directly to the Conflict if you sent an Agent to a Combat space); each dreadnought is worth 3 strength, is durable (doesn’t return to supply on resolution), and if you win a Conflict with at least one dreadnought you must place one to control an Arrakis location until the end of the next Combat phase. (See page 6 and page 12.)

What does the Unload keyword on some Reveal boxes mean — when does it trigger?

An Unload Reveal box grants its Reveal effects not only when you reveal the card on your Reveal turn but also when you discard the card or when the card is trashed; note that the card itself doesn’t automatically let you discard or trash it, you must use other means to do so. (See page 7 and page 12.)

What is Infiltration — can I place an Agent where an opponent already has one?

An Infiltration Agent icon (partial agent profile) lets you send an Agent to a board space even if enemy Agents occupy it (you can’t use it to place a second Agent of your own on a space you already occupy), but it does not override effects like The Voice and added icons from Dispatch an Envoy don’t grant infiltration. (See page 7 and page 12.)
