Set in 17th-century Spain during the reign of Felipe IV, players take the roles of hidalgos seeking introduction to the Count‑Duke Olivares. The board represents Madrid and surrounding locales, and play alternates between role‑play style events and roll‑and‑move movement across the map. Players manage their reputations, resources, and encounters as they pursue favors, duels, and social advancement. Dice determine movement and resolution of conflicts, while cards and scenario cues introduce narrative choices and consequences that affect each player’s standing and progress toward courtly introduction.
