Evenfall

Clans of magic vie for control as reality frays and the World-Tree opens gateways to distant regions. Players send witches to explore and claim Places of Power, perform rituals, and contest Powerstones while developing an engine of cards and actions. The game uses card-driven mechanics that reward efficient resource management and sequencing to build synergies and generate victory points. Designed for 1–4 players, play unfolds over three rounds, after which the player with the most points wins.

Can I take several main actions on my turn?

No. You must perform exactly one main action, then you may perform any number of free actions; the five main actions are listed on page 6. A free action lets you discard two cards to gain one Herb, Potion, or Knowledge (p. 6).

Can I pass now and take another turn later?

No. If you pass, you sit out for the rest of the Action Phase, which continues until all players have passed (p. 6).

What is the difference between my Outer Circle and Inner Circle?

Places of Power and Rituals in the Outer Circle do not score victory points at game end, while Rituals score only in the Inner Circle. Transfers move a Place of Power—and any Ritual and Catalysts on it—from the Outer Circle to the Inner Circle (pp. 7, 10).

Can an Elder activate any Action Space?

No. Witches can activate Action Spaces in your clan and on the Region boards, but Elders can activate only Action Spaces in your Inner Circle unless an effect specifically allows otherwise (p. 10).

Do I get only one Battle Reward, based on my highest threshold?

No. Battle Rewards are cumulative: at combat strength 4 or more you gain the 4+ reward, at 6 or more you gain both the 4+ and 6+ rewards, and at 8 or more you gain all three (p. 12).

If I am the only player in a Region, do I automatically win the battle?

Yes, you win automatically and obtain that Region’s Powerstone. You may still spend Mana to increase your combat strength and reach Battle Reward thresholds (p. 13).
