No — any card or Location with Snow on it cannot be played, used, or activated until the Snow is cleared; Snow on a card in your city also makes that card inactive and it does not count for Quests or points (see page 15).

Before Winter’s Fury clearing a Snow token normally costs 1 Fire (after Winter’s Fury it costs 2 Fire), you may clear up to 1 Snow from a card in your city once per turn (outside Prepare for Season), Snow in the Valley must be cleared when you play that card, and Snow on board Locations is cleared when you place a worker there and clear Snow as part of that action (see pages 15–16).

The first player to prepare for winter flips the Winter’s Fury tile, after which removing Snow costs 2 Fire instead of 1, and that player also discards and redraws all face-up Big Critters (see page 14).

The Ranger may be placed on an Exclusive Location already occupied by another player's non-Ranger worker (but not on Red Destination cards or Journey), and if you place your Ranger on an unoccupied Location you immediately gain 1 Fire (which may be used to pay that Location’s Fire cost) (see page 10).

You may play a Critter for 1 Fire by using a Chimney on an appropriate Construction: pay 1 Fire and place a Chimney on that Construction (each Construction can hold only 1 Chimney and each player only has 2 Chimneys total); you gain one Chimney when you prepare for Autumn and another when you prepare for Winter (see pages 12 and 14).

When you visit the Guild you may achieve one Quest you meet the requirements for (either a Highland Quest or one Lowland Quest from your supply); after attempting to achieve a Quest you draw the top 2 Lowland Quests, secretly keep one and return the other to the bottom, and you may not achieve a Quest you just drew in that same action (see page 9).
