Fudge Dice

Customized six-sided dice show two plus faces, two minus faces, and two blank faces. Players roll a pool of these dice (commonly four) and add the net result of pluses and minuses to an attribute or skill rated on an adjective scale. Each plus increments the base rating by one step and each minus decrements it by one step; blanks have no effect. The modified rating is then compared to a target difficulty on the same adjective scale to determine success. These dice are also compatible with Fate and other narrative-focused RPG systems that use step-based outcomes.
