Heavy Steam

Head-to-head combat in a steampunk universe, piloting customizable steam-powered mechs. Players select a robot, recruit a pilot, equip weapons, and manage limited steam to power movement, weapons, and other systems. Scenarios set objectives that may require defeating an opponent, while event and terrain cards change each battle. Play focused scenarios or fight until only one steam titan remains.

Robots battling off! Powered by steam and transported on trains! Have only played this once, it was a BEAR to learn the rules from rulebook, hopefully someone has created a nice cribsheet or video to watch. The rulebook was written kind of badly, like this rulebook seemed like it was revision 2 out of what should have been like 5 or 6 revisions. Learning to play takes an hour or so, maybe longer. Do not throw new gamers or green gamers into this game, definitely grab your nerdy buddy. Gameplay is very cool and has lots of complexity and options for those into that. The theme is very cool as well, (I'm a sucker for steam). Replay-ability is pretty high given that you can draft parts on your robot and customize it to your liking as well as picking a pilot with a unique ability. I would like to revisit this game and revise this rating if I can just muster the drive to relearn the rules.
