Heroes of the World

This light strategy game spans two epochs, from the ancient world to the modern era. Players select historical heroes such as Julius Caesar, Lao-Tse, Shakespeare, or Mozart, each with abilities that influence population growth and available regions. The game begins with five areas on the map; after they are evaluated, Russia, Europe, Southeast Asia, and America become accessible. On a turn, players grow populations, draw and place cultural advancement tokens, attack opposing pieces, or collect money. Funds can be used to build wonders such as the Hanging Gardens and the Great Wall, or to move peoples between regions. Players score victory points by placing civilization tokens, with additional points awarded for having the most pieces in evaluated territories.
