In the golden age of stage magic, players learn illusions from renowned 19th-century magicians, gaining special abilities and building their shows. Players draft custom dice, place workers, and develop an engine of illusion cards. They connect performance locations across the largest cities, earning acclaim and points for spectacle, secrets, and different types of magical effects. Card abilities can manipulate dice, move workers, add performers, and copy other effects. A changing turn-order system and varied goals shape each game, while the player with the most points at the end wins.
