Poltava's Dread Day: The Great Northern War 1700-1722 AD

This historical wargame covers the Great Northern War from 1700 to 1722, including the campaign that helped shape modern Russia and altered the balance of power in Europe. Each year includes Summer and Winter turns plus an administrative phase. Players move armies using leader initiative and die rolls, manage varied infantry and cavalry units, and fight battles where every unit represents a single strength point. Losses are usually permanent, making attrition and risky winter operations important decisions. Reinforcements and diplomacy are randomized, creating different campaign situations from game to game.
