The Slasher Movie can be scary, ridiculous, gory, trashy, witty social commentary or just dumb fun. This fast-playing party game emulates an 1980s-style exploitation film with a small deck of cards. Players create the movie’s setting, introduce themselves as characters, and take turns setting up scenes involving characters, locations, and conflicts. Anyone can call “CUT!” when a scene reaches a turning point, becomes strange or dangerous, or starts to slow down. Drawing a card determines whether the scene ends in the active player’s favor, leads to a near-death experience, reveals the killer, or results in a grisly murder. Eliminated players continue contributing as background characters, narrators, and special effects while the surviving cast works toward the ending.
