Spitfires Over Darwin

Australian air units defend the Northern Territory against repeated Japanese raids while awaiting reinforcements. Players command mixed squadrons of fighters and strike aircraft — Spitfires, Beaufighters, Boomerangs and older types — and fly air-to-air and air-to-ground missions across a top-view operational map of the Darwin area. Gameplay uses scenario-driven turns with aircraft counters, movement and combat resolution to model interceptions, escorts, raids and ground-attack sorties. Thirty scenarios and additional counters present varied historical engagements and force mixes; several scenarios require the base system to play.
