Sport of Kings: Germany 1740-45

An operational study of the German campaigns of the War of the Austrian Succession from 1740 to 1745, covering Silesia, Moravia, Bohemia, Bavaria, and the Rhineland. One player commands the French and their allies, another controls the Allied army, and a third may command the Prussians. Saxony and the forces of the Empire can shift allegiance during play. Players move brigade counters across an 8.5-mile-per-hex map, managing supply, operations, administration, and combat over monthly turns. Units are rated for strength, effectiveness, and movement. Scenarios cover the Silesian Wars, the Austro-Bavarian War, and the Dettingen campaign, along with a campaign game spanning the entire period.
