Star Realms: Akademia

Build a compact deck of ships and bases to fight space battles against one or more opponents. Play uses simplified rules with minimal arithmetic and no card text to read; cards provide straightforward trade, combat, and authority effects via icons and numbers. On each turn players acquire new cards, play ships for trade or attack, and use bases for defense or ongoing benefits until they are destroyed.

This might just be my favorite junior implementation of a more complex game. The designers made some great choices in the ways they simplified the gameplay, particularly the smaller hand size while still allowing for lots of action on each turn. I do wish there was still a card elimination mechanic but that is minor. My kids just love this one.
