The Hive

Farms near a village stand abandoned, and several people have disappeared amid strange buzzing and chittering. The investigation leads toward rocky hills and the estate of Lord Oakensun, whose experiments with insects and unknown forces may have gone wrong. This short fantasy adventure is designed for 4th- to 6th-level characters and can be added to an existing Swords & Wizardry campaign with minimal preparation. It includes multiple adventure hooks, a new monster, a magic item, a location-based encounter area with grid and gridless maps, adventure expansion seeds, and a random treasure hoard table.
