The One Ring (2nd Edition)

Set in Middle-earth during the late Third Age, the game places player characters in Eriador as the Shadow begins to lengthen after years of uneasy peace. Players create adventurers—warriors, scholars, wanderers—and undertake quests to explore wild lands, investigate rumours, recover lost lore, and confront growing threats. Play uses narrative-driven roleplaying and mechanical resolution for travel, social interaction, combat, and the creeping influence of darkness on characters. The system emphasises atmosphere and fellowship: characters develop through journeys, camps, and relationships, while the rules track the toll of risk and the influence of the Enemy on both actions and story outcomes.
