The Suckering Worm

Monsters compete in an underground gambling ring operated by the mysterious suckering worms. Each player contributes a piece of treasure to enter a group, then secretly selects and presents a valuable treasure at the next meeting. The group votes on the most valuable offering; its owner claims the other treasures except the cheapest, which the worms keep. Players who demonstrate ingenuity and success may advance to more prestigious groups, but repeated failure or excessive wealth can attract the worms’ attention.
