This expansion explores the darker and more violent aspects of war, adding new roles, factions, enemies, and campaign options. It introduces the Exarch, Devotee, and Exile roles, rules for playing as the Darokar invaders or the Hand upon the Abyss, and guidance for using these forces in standard campaigns. The book also expands the setting’s arcane elements with dark magic, artifact creation, and a bestiary of supernatural beings. Faction-focused material includes tables, scenarios, ready-to-use NPCs, and advice for running campaigns from each faction’s perspective.
