Players operate in a collapsed near-future setting where bioengineering and lost technology shape scarce resources and influence. Each turn a player moves across a modular, randomly generated map to visit locations that grant actions and effects. Players mix attribute resources using a color-wheel alchemy system to develop new traits, unlock abilities, and fuel engines built as a personal card tableau. Players recruit and cultivate contacts across three factions—smugglers, mercenaries, and lawmakers—and assign them to jobs like artifact recovery, bounty claims, and augment development. Gameplay emphasizes action selection, tableau combos, area control, and resource management to accumulate leverage before the game’s variable end conditions trigger.
