Niezwykłe Ogrody

Players take the role of rival gardeners preparing their community green for an upcoming Village Green of the Year competition. On each turn, players acquire and place elements such as flower beds, trees, statues, and ponds, and manage limited time and resources to install and position features effectively. Players also nominate their green for various awards, balancing placement choices against scoring opportunities and the actions of opponents. The game centers on tile and token placement, tactical planning, and timing as players try to maximize points while reacting to rival gardeners’ moves and the changing state of the green.

A smart little game quasi-abstract game of optimization PROS - The gameplay is easy to teach and learn (except for the flower icons management, see CONS below). It is pretty hard to master though. - The game rewards players for taking things that would fit in other people's gardens, but it does not drag the game down or make it overstay its welcome (as you would only do so if the card is also useful to you, therefore advancing the game while taking it). - Cute watercolor art contributing to its relaxing theme. CONS - It is fairly easy for new players to get themselves into a position where new cards cannot be placed (except for Grass cards), due to a bad management of the flower icons. For some reason it is not as organic as it probably should be. - Can be a bit multisolitaire. - The theme is a bit bland. It is relaxing, but do not expect to have the feeling of building a pretty garden or hve something personal to look at when finishing.
