We Are Coming, Nineveh

A tactical/operational-level wargame simulating the Iraqi government campaign to recapture western Mosul from ISIS between February and July 2017. Players command government and insurgent forces across urban terrain, conducting assaults, managing limited resources, and resolving combat and movement at a low-complexity rules level. Victory is evaluated on three dimensions—operation speed, government force casualties, and civilian collateral damage—so players balance rapid advances against losses and urban devastation. Scenarios recreate phases of the campaign and the game aims for accessibility while treating urban operations and political-military tradeoffs explicitly.
