Players lead rival noble families in late Bronze Age Thebes, rebuilding the Cadmea while managing the city’s economy, religious devotion, and defenses. Game play runs over ten rounds of Action and Fate phases: players roll and spend a Citizen die, move an Archon on the citadel board, develop exports and buildings, and assign defenders to the seven city gates as invading champions attack. Actions and Fate resolutions generate points through construction, trade, worship, and successful gate defense; final scoring determines the most influential family.
