Caravelas

Set sail as a Portuguese sailor during the age of discoveries, navigating the world’s seas and seeking wealth through trade. Players guide their caravelles from Lisbon across a world map marked with historical sea currents, discovering ports, collecting merchandise, and completing secret objectives. Currents allow free movement, while sailing against them uses navigation discs. Events, pirates, and sinking spaces create hazards along the way. On returning to Lisbon, merchandise can be exchanged for victory points, pepper can fund pieces of the Jerónimos Monastery, and points can be spent to acquire an additional ship. The game ends when the final monastery piece is bought.
