War in the Desert

This game recreates the campaigns in North Africa and the Near East during World War II. It covers the Western Desert from the Italian offensive and British counteroffensive in 1940 through Tobruk, Gazala, and El Alamein; the campaign in Northwest Africa from Operation Torch to the Axis surrender in May 1943; and the struggle for Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. Using standard Europa-scale rules, play takes place in two-week turns on maps divided into 16-mile hexes. Players maneuver divisions, regiments, and battalions, manage operations across multiple theaters, and resolve the major campaigns and political conflicts of the period.
