Basileus II

Basileus II is a board game for 2 players. It plays in 30–90 minutes and is meant for ages 12 and up.

Fight five battles during the Byzantine resurgence and fall of the 10th–11th centuries, including Andrassos, Orontes, Azaz, Manzikert, and Zombos Bridge. Using a hex-and-counter, alternating-turn system, players move and command forces, engage in ranged fire and melee, and check morale as units are eliminated. Byzantine cataphracts and special rules such as Unseizable reflect the characteristics of the period.
